Bathroom upgrades next to Domestic Gates 1-3

Project location – Level 1 Domestic Terminal North.  Immediately after security screening and adjacent to Qantaslink Gates 1 to 3. 

Project start & completion - 8 May 2023, with estimated completion by 31 June 2023.

Construction schedule - All Construction works will be performed as night works between the hours of 8.00pm and 4.00am. Other
non-disruptive activities (i.e., minor investigations, carting of waste bins) will be performed during the day
between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm.

Scope

BAC in conjunction with the contractor Formula Interiors, will be performing a full upgrade of these bathrooms.

The Works will involve the below activities:

• Installation of construction site hoarding with temporary wayfinding signage,
• Full demolition of existing amenities (Female, Male, PWD and Parents Room) including:
• Saw cutting and removal of terrazzo flooring,
• Saw cutting of ground slab for new drainage,
• Reconfiguration of entry walls for improved queuing space,
• Reconfiguration of internal layouts for increased capacity to female bathrooms,
• Upgrade of all building services including electrical, plumbing and drainage, mechanical and fire,
• Installation of all new finishes and fixtures to existing Brisbane Airport Design Guidelines with
modernised options for sanitary fixtures,
• Installation of new signage in compliance with Brisbane Airport Wayfinding Guidelines.

Passenger experience during works
While these bathrooms are closed during works, passengers will be directed to use bathrooms on Level 2 behind the food
court or adjacent to Gate 22.

Temporary wayfinding will be installed onto the hoarding to reflect these changes.

Domestic Terminal Tenancies
The Contractor will perform electrical isolations which will impact several services adjacent the site for short
periods. All electrical isolations will be done between 12am and 4am to minimise disruption.

Separate notices will be issued prior to isolations for airport stakeholder information.
