Monthly Passenger Update - August 2023

The monthly passenger report for July 2023 has been released.  Brisbane Airport for August 2023 was 91% of pre-COVID levels, when comparing against FY19.

 

Domestic:

 

  • 95% Domestic Passenger restoration for August 2023 against pre-COVID levels
  • BNE saw an average of 46,599 domestic passengers per day in August 2023
  • Notable markets that are doing well with passenger volumes above pre-COVID volumes (in order of passengers vs July 2019) are Moranbah (+83%), Albury (did not operate in July 2019), Launceston (+37%), Hobart (+15%), and Proserpine (+11%).

International:

  • 80% International Passenger restoration for August 2023 against pre-COVID levels
  • BNE saw an average of 13,808 international passengers per day in August 2023
  • There were 14 days exceeding 14,000 passengers and two (2) days exceeding 15,000 passengers.  The biggest day for the month was Sunday 20 August 2023 with 15,651 International passengers which was the 4th highest day in the pre-COVID recovery (only just short of the record post covid of 15,785 passengers on Sunday 25 June 2023).
