Domestic Security Upgrade News - 21 August 2023

Published on August 21, 2023

Here is an update of the current works occurring at the Domestic Terminal as part of the Security Upgrade Project.

1. Light Pole Relocation and Installation:

As part of the ongoing construction of the central baggage system (CBS), it has been determined that the light pole near bay 38 needs to be relocated. This is to create sufficient space for the construction works. However, I would like to inform you that there has been a slight change in the schedule for this task. Due to the availability of subcontractors and mobilisation issues, the works have been rescheduled to take place from the 20th to the 22nd of September.

2. Domestic Terminal Frosting:

To ensure construction privacy within the CBS site, the project team has decided to install frosting across half of the satellite and walkway areas. This installation process will commence on the 28th of August and is expected to take two days to complete. Please note that this installation will be carried out with minimal disruption to passengers and terminal stakeholders.

3. Retail Temporary Storage Solution and Surveying:

Over the next fortnight, we will be initiating works to prepare the land for the construction of a retail temporary storage solution. Additionally, surveying activities will be conducted across the north and south bag halls.
